Setting up a repeat

Open Repeat in the item editor:

  • Daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, with any interval (for example every 2 weeks).
  • Specific weekdays, such as Saturday and Monday.
  • Position in the month, such as “second Monday” or “last day of the month”.
  • End: never, after a number of times, or on a date.

Repeating by the Jalali or Hijri calendar

Monthly and yearly repeats can follow the Jalali, Hijri or Gregorian calendar — “the 1st of every Jalali month” or “every year on 15 Sha‘ban”.

When a day doesn’t exist in some months (the 31st in 30-day months, or 30 Esfand in a common year), choose what happens: skip that occurrence, use the day before, or the day after.

Odd and even weeks

For classes that meet every other week:

  1. Set the term start date in the timetable or term settings — the first week of term is “odd”.
  2. In the class’s repeat, choose odd weeks only or even weeks only.

The current week’s label (“Odd week” / “Even week”) appears on Today and on the timetable. A/B weeks work the same way.

Shift cycles

Medical staff and anyone on shifts can create a shift pattern — “day, day, evening, evening, night, night, off, off”, or “24 hours on, 48 off”. Shifts that cross midnight show on both days, and Barzaman warns you when rest time runs short.

Repeat after completion

For things whose next time depends on when you last did them, choose after completion — “7 days after I last watered the plants”. The next occurrence appears only once you mark the current one done.

Editing a repeating item

When you change one occurrence, Barzaman asks:

  • Only this one: changes just this occurrence (move one class, say).
  • This and following: splits the series here; the past is untouched.
  • All: rewrites the rule and keeps one-off changes that still apply.

Statuses, notes and field values of past sessions are never lost in any of these.
