Offline use and sync

Offline is the normal state

In Barzaman every change is saved on your device first. The app, calendars, timetable, notes, reports and exports all work without internet — for weeks. The Android app’s reminders are scheduled on the phone itself.

Sync (optional)

When you sign in, Barzaman syncs changes with the server whenever a connection is available and brings them to your other devices:

• Changes queue up until you’re back online; you don’t need to do anything.
• Sync is field by field: change a task’s title on your phone and its time on your laptop, and both changes survive.
• If the same field changes on two devices, the latest change wins. A status you set yourself always beats an automatic one (like “missed”).
• Deletions reach your other devices and can be restored from Trash for 30 days.
• If the same note block is edited on two devices at once, no text is lost — the other version is kept in the conflict center.

The Free plan syncs up to 2 devices.

Sync status

The sync indicator shows synced, syncing, offline or error. Items that haven’t synced yet carry a small dot. In Settings → Account you’ll see when you last synced, and a Sync now button.

If you were offline for a very long time

A device that hasn’t synced for about 6 months downloads a fresh snapshot when it reconnects, then re-sends its own unsynced changes — still, nothing is lost.

The web app

The web app keeps data on the device and works offline too, but its reminders need a connection. See the web app on iPhone.
