Privacy, app lock and data on your device
Barzaman has no ads and no tracking. See what data is stored where, how to turn on app lock, and how to protect sensitive information.

Our principles
- No ads, no cross-app tracking, no data sales.
- Your data is stored on your device first; you need neither an account nor a connection.
- Usage analytics are collected only with your separate consent, and you can turn them off.
- Exporting and deleting your data is always available.

Where is my data?
- Android app: the app database is strongly encrypted, with its key kept in the Android Keystore.
- Web app: data lives in the browser’s local storage for this site only.
- With sync: a copy travels over an encrypted connection (TLS) to Barzaman’s servers, where it’s stored so it can move between your devices.
App lock
In Settings → Security → App lock:
- Set a PIN.
- Optionally enable fingerprint or face unlock.
- Choose the auto-lock delay (immediately, after 1 minute…).
- Turn on blur preview so the app’s content is hidden in Recent apps.
App lock is free on every plan, and reminders still arrive on time while the app is locked.
Lock-screen privacy
For sensitive types (visits, medications) you can hide the reminder text on the lock screen so it only says “Barzaman reminder”.
Patient data
For visits, record patient codes only, not full names. Barzaman is a planning tool and not a medical device; don’t rely on it for clinical decisions.
Encrypted vault (Pro)
Notes and items in the vault are encrypted on your device with a passphrase only you know, and the server stores ciphertext only. If you lose both the passphrase and the recovery key, nobody — including us — can open them.
