The web app on iPhone, and its limits
Install Barzaman’s web app on iPhone and iPad, turn on notifications, and understand how web reminders differ from the Android app’s.
On this page
Until the App Store version is out, iPhone and iPad users can use Barzaman’s web app. It’s the same app: your data is stored on the device and it works offline.
Add it to your Home Screen
- Open app.barzaman.ir in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an up arrow).
- Choose Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.
- From now on, open Barzaman from its Home Screen icon, not from Safari.
Turn on notifications
- You need iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later.
- Open Barzaman from the Home Screen, enable notifications in the reminders section, and allow the iPhone prompt.
- Manage them later in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Barzaman.
Important limits (honestly)
Browsers, Safari included, don’t let a website schedule notifications on the device for later. So:
- Web-app reminders are sent from Barzaman’s server as web push — you need an account with sync turned on to use reminders in the web app.
- At reminder time, both your iPhone and our server must be online, and delivery also depends on Apple’s push service. During an internet outage, web reminders don’t arrive.
- Full-screen alarms, per-reminder volume and custom vibration aren’t possible on the web.
- If you don’t open Barzaman for a while, Safari may clear websites’ stored data. Make regular backups or keep sync on.
Our advice
- For reminders you can’t miss (exams, medications, shifts), use the Android app if you have an Android phone.
- On iPhone, set a backup alarm in the built-in Clock app for anything critical.
- SMS, Bale and Telegram reminder channels are planned for Pro, and an App Store version is on its way.
Planning, calendars, the timetable, notes and reports all work fully offline in the web app — only reminder delivery depends on a connection.
